I’m finally following Chuck’s advice. (link to it coming soon).
The short story format, just like any short term project in painting, filming, animating, coding, etc. is better for beginner creatives. It took me awhile to completely agree with this; I’m young and manic as you all know.
I have a novel in the works that I’m taking a break from for time, energy, and money reasons.
I am proud of the work I’ve done on my novel for three years and I don’t regret starting it. I needed to take a humongous bite because I needed the nourishing enrichment! I loved it and the reason I spent so long on it is it grew up with me throughout the years of meeting people, learning about their lives, and how special the world is etc. etc.
Sections of it are on this blog. The most recent are the trilogy of posts which in the near future will possibly coalesce into a short story and invade a small town journal. For now it is solely for Substacker’s revelry. I’m going to make all three parts free to read on my birth week, June 12th-18th (nobody will get to know the day until I have a Wikipedia page!) as a present. Read it to your friends, family, local mob boss, or pot dealer.
During this time, it would also mean the world for you to consider pledging a paid subscription. It’s eight dollars. You can stick to the subscription for as long or short as you want. I will start writing posts exclusive to this special group of readers more often as a benefit.
Thank you to everyone who reads this and guess what? Today marks the 1st year anniversary that I’ve composed a short story for this platform! That’s where I began sharing this lovely place with other fellow writers and enjoyed some pretty rocking stories. (Link coming soon too.)
More stories, more surprises will overfill this year until it explodes!
Stick around for the fireworks ; )
